Abstract

In the present time, we can notice an increase of the so called “end of millennium” symptoms, such as, drug addiction, homosexuality, loneliness feelings, and the economical, social and aesthetic success appetite. This situation leads us to wonder about the meaning and implications of it. This refers, according to psychoanalysis, to father decline topic, which in turn is now reflected in that the father figure has been placed in a position in which he can still reign but he cannot rule. The father, as a figure representing law and establishing limits, appears minimized. This has originated profound psychological implications and consequences, which will be analyzed in our present historical and cultural period from Jacques Lacan’s perspective. Key words: Intelligence, emotion, biological structure, culture, learning, grade point average
