Abstract

The appearance of covid-19 forced governments to take measures that restricted economic activity. In Argentina, the economic crisis was already present, but it deepened and reached historic levels with the pandemic. Here, through the survey of official sources and statistics, we examine the measures adopted by the Argentine government and their results based on the analysis of medium-term dynamics. We propose to carry out this approach by incorporating global and national economic trends into the study, showing how the appearance of the coronavirus and its immediate effects were catalysts for a pre-existing crisis.
