Abstract

Nowadays there is a wide panorama of knowledge regarding the study of International Cooperation for Development and its respective modalities. Even for one of the least analyzed cases, the South-South Cooperation, there is an important volume of literature, with a particular focus on the dialogues and advances achieved by the United Nations’ system and in the Latin American and Caribbean region. However, detailed studies about the history, evolution and advances of this topic are scarce. This study seeks to organize and present the historical and conceptual evolution of South-South Cooperation and its main achievements, focusing on the Latin-American region, in order to contribute towards the historical, spatial and temporary comprehension of South-South Cooperation to facilitate bigger and better advances that permit to identify new research fields and possibilities for this area of knowledge.
