Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the financial impact generated by the COVID-19 pandemic on the Integrated System of Public Transport of Barranquilla (TRANSMETRO S.A.S.) in 2020. Based on a study of demand and costs, an analysis was made, we modeled and projected the system variables through time series methods, obtaining a hypothetical scenario under the assumption of the absence of the health crisis. This was contrasted with the real data generated during the crisis. The findings show, in general, a seasonal behavior with a growing trend in income. However, the even higher growth in costs implies that the system has operated at a great differential cost since its inception. Annual differential cost, in turn, showed a downward trend until the outbreak of the pandemic, from which a significant reversal of finances was generated, placing the company's income in a scenario like that of its beginnings.
