Abstract

In this document a cost efficient incentive is proposed to allow for the adoption of a Sylvopastoral system by the cattle raisers from La Miel basins (Caldas); a linear programming optimization model is solved to understand the relationship between the traditional cattle rising and the Sylvopastoral systems with the economic and environmental conditions in the basin. To perform the analysis secondary information collected in the study area. The results obtained from diverse scenarios allowed for the conclusion that the best incentive, given the economic and environmental restrictions amounts to the one that equals the net benefits of both productive systems.
