Abstract

This paper analyses from a theoretical perspective the impact of the maintenance cost of household on the owner rents, its deterioration and the owner mobility decision to another household. Through Marxist tool of land rend is shown that when the owner not to pay the household maintenance cost it generates a lost of the potential rents which can be received for the owner. It causes an impoverish of the household owner in two ways: the household obsolescence and/or his displacement to another household of lower quality.
