Transmisión del Capital Humano entre Padres e Hijos en Colombia: Un Mecanismo Causal de Pobreza.

La literatura del desarrollo económico ha llegado a un consenso sobre la importancia de la educación y la salud como determinantes del desempeño económico de los individuos. La hipótesis de que estos factores se heredan de una generación a otra podría explicar la existencia de una trampa de pobreza, estableciendo un mecanismo causal de pobreza, que es evidenciado por una baja movilidad intergeneracional. Usando un sistema de ecuaciones triprobit, este trabajo presenta la relación entre el nivel de educación y de salud de los jefes de hogar y esos mismos factores en los individuos en edad escolar del hogar, para Colombia.
