Los Salarios de Eficiencia en el Sector Bananero de Urabá – Colombia

Esta investigación busca determinar la Existencia de Salarios de Eficiencia (SE) en el sector bananero de Urabá (Colombia), dado que se considera según la literatura que en áreas rurales son casi inexistentes este tipo de salarios. Se utilizó un modelo Probit basado en teorías de SE de Shapiro -Stiglitz y otros autores como Arkelof – Yellen basado en una prueba piloto a través de un trabajo de campo, aplicando una encuesta en algunos trabajadores del sector. Así se pudo observar y medir el impacto que tiene la productividad de cada trabajador en los salarios recibidos, los cuales se pueden considerar eficientes.
The purpose of this investigation is to determine the existence of efficiency wages (Salarios Eficientes – SE for its acronym in Spanish) in the bananas industry located in the Uraba region (Northwest Colombia), as according to the theory on SE, these type of wages are almost non-existent in rural areas. The research used a probit model based on Shapiro – Stiglitz SE theories as well as those from other authors such as Arkelof- Yellen. Fieldwork was implemented in the pilot test, by gathering information from workers in the industry through a survey. Thus, the impact of earned wages in the employees’ productivity could be observed and measured, allowing the conclusion that SE can be observed in the Uraba region.
