Abstract

The urban land is an asset comprising land and built by private or public land. These components are indivisible, that it is not possible any use of private land without the existence of public land to house the public goods required by urbanization and providing the conditions of accessibility and urban livability. The main mechanisms for producing public land are planning assignments that are not free because their value is reflected in the price of private land. This work deals with this show and is a contribution of urban institutional economics to an understanding of the principle of sharing the burdens and benefits of the urbanization process.
