Incidência da capacitação técnica e do investimento em tecnologia na produtividade dos pequenos produtores agrícolas do cantão Quevedo

Resumo

A pesquisa aborda a relação entre a assistência técnica e a produtividade dos pequenos agricultores do cantão Quevedo, Equador, onde a agricultura representa uma atividade fundamental para a economia local. Foram estudados 80 produtores vinculados a um centro de coleta, com diversidade de idade, nível educacional e experiência agrícola.

Utilizou-se uma abordagem mista, combinando entrevistas não estruturadas, questionários estruturados e revisão documental, além de um modelo de regressão linear múltipla para analisar como variáveis como assistência técnica, extensão das áreas cultivadas, investimento em tecnologia e idade do agricultor influenciam a renda. A análise evidenciou que a assistência técnica exerce um efeito positivo e significativo sobre a renda, aumentando em média US$ 73,3 por produtor, ao facilitar a adoção de melhores práticas de cultivo, manejo de pragas e otimização de recursos.

De forma complementar, a extensão das áreas cultivadas também eleva a renda, embora dependa de fatores como manejo adequado, acesso a insumos e condições climáticas. Esses achados ressaltam a importância de programas de capacitação e acompanhamento técnico como ferramentas estratégicas para potencializar a produtividade agrícola. Conclui-se que a assistência técnica constitui um determinante-chave para melhorar a rentabilidade, a sustentabilidade e a resiliência dos pequenos produtores em Quevedo, promovendo práticas inovadoras, fortalecendo a comercialização direta e contribuindo para o desenvolvimento rural sustentável.
