Valoración económica del servicio ecosistémico de soporte a la pesquería provisto por el ecosistema de manglar en la Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo la valoración económica de uno de los múltiples servicios ecosistémicos provistos por el manglar: soporte a la actividad pesquera. Para ello se aplica la valoración a precios de mercado incluyendo nueve especies comerciales, entre peces y crustáceos, capturadas por pescadores artesanales en la CGSM. Los resultados obtenidos se comparan con estudios realizados en México bajo la misma metodología y muestran los altos niveles productividad del ecosistema de manglar de la Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta, a pesar de que en el área de estudio no se cuente con una regulación de la actividad pesquera y de que el manglar y sus servicios ecosistémicos han estado sujetos a fuertes dinámicas de degradación y recuperación.
