Abstract

Hospital logistics is related to the processes of supply, storage and distribution of medicines and other supplies required for the clinical management of patients. The objective of this work is to present the design of a collaborative supply strategy to guarantee the supply of medicines for a clinical study of COVID-19, minimizing supply failures, costs and times and always guaranteeing their availability among the participating health centers. This work is carried out in three phases: the first one makes an analysis of the context and a review of the norms of each of the participating IPS-health provider institutions; in the second phase, protocols and manuals are designed for the supply and inventory management processes, and finally, they are implemented during the development of the clinical study. As a result of this work, a collaborative model of purchasing and inventory management is presented, comprising three pharmaceutical product laboratories, a compounding center and ten IPS. Likewise, the processes for collaborative inventory management and traceability were designed. Ultimately, these results can be used to evaluate the coordination of the entire hospital supply chain in a pandemic scenario.
