Atmospheric deterioration of concrete exposed in variable aggressiveness Colombian Scenarios
Abstract
AbstractThe concrete behavior in service depends on the atmospheric conditions where it is exposed. The determination of the atmosphere effect in stability of a given material depends on several factors related with time of wetness and atmospheric pollution. In Colombia, a few studies about this subject had been performed. In this study, cylindrical specimens of mortars, reinforced and non-reinforced, were exposed in Medellin, Bogota and Barranquilla. In order to establish the deterioration degree of mortars, after exposure, electrochemical and carbonation tests were carried out to the reinforced and non-reinforced specimens, respectively.
