Design of CNC Turret Punch for small batches production

Abstract

This article presents the results of a research in the field of precision machines design. The main design criteria used is the production of small batches. A classical type of punching machine was designed, built and tested. The construction was carried out using numerically controlled machine tools without the use of complex assemblies.
The results showed high levels of dimensional and geometrical errors. Therefore, it is considered a modified and original design with a smaller accumulative error rate and the same method of manufacture. This index is compared in relation to the variation in design parameters so that does not change the final cost of the equipment. The aim is to increase production workshops precision machines in emerging markets.
