This paper presents an application of the AHP methodology to select awaste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) to be considered in thedesign of a reverse logistics chain for the integrated management of thesolid waste that those appliances generate. This work is the first step forthe design of the logistics chain and has been addressed through the multicriteriaviewpoint due to the importance of the WEEE environmental andeconomic impacts. The paper includes a broad and detailed characterizationof the electrical and electronic equipment with the greatest presence inColombian homes. The exposed methodology can be easily replicated forany other type of equipment or solid waste in the configuration processof the reverse supply chain. For the specific case presented here, cathodicray and LCD TVs have been selected.Published
