Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

    * The main author and any co-authors (if applicable) must complete the Assignment of Rights Form which you will find at the following link:

    *Author Information: In a separate Microsoft Word document from the article, the following information should be provided:
    • Name of the author(s)
    • Academic titles and institutional affiliation
    • Mailing address of the corresponding author
    • Email addresses of each author
    • ORCID of each author, if not registered, please sign up at the following link: https://orcid.org/signin
    • Source of grants and support received for the preparation of the article or related research.

  • -Send the sumary of the research and review in english (1000 words) and spanish (300 words), they must have the following structure OMRC:

    1) Objectives
    2) Matherials and Methods
    3) Results
    4) Conclusions
  • Send a letter signed by the lead author or all authors stating that the article was reviewed using plagiarism detection software, and include a screenshot of the results showing a similarity score of 20% or less.

Author Guidelines

DIRECTIONS TO AUTHORS

Editorial Board will evaluate each article since its arbitration process (internal and external) and will decide on the convenience of its publication. In some cases the article will be accepted with some changes or with the most appropiate suggestion to a new presentation, taking into account the APA's sytlebook.

The types of articles received are as the follows:


• Scientific and technologic research article: Manuscript that exposes, in a detailed way, the original results of completed research projects. The used structure contains four important asides: introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.


• Reflection article: Manuscript that exposes completed research results, since an analitic, interpretative or critic perspective of the author, about a specific topic, using original sources.

• Review article: Manuscript resulted of an ended research in which results of researches, that has been published or not, are analized, systematized and integrated, about a field in science and technology, to give account of advances and development trends. It is characterized for having a careful literature review, of at least 50 references (Colciencias, 2006).

Form and preparation of manuscripts:

The articles must be digitized by computer, letter sieze, Font Arial 12 pts., double space (even references); it must not have more than 30 pages, including references, tables and diagrams.

The reception of the articles will be notified inmediately; the author will be informed about the state of it in a 6-9 months term.

Data authors: In a document (Microsoft Word) separeted from the article the following information must be submitted: 

- Title of the article, both in English and Spanish: Should be short, specific and informative.
- Name(s) of author(s)
- Academic titles and institutional affiliation
- Address of main author(s)
- E-mail addresses and telephone number of each author
-ORCID of each author
- Origin of grants and support received for the preparation of the article or related research.

The document must have the following requirements:
- Title of the article, as well as in English as in Spanish: Must be short, especific and informative

- Abstracts should be submitted in Spanish (300 words) and English (1000 words). In the case of articles originally written in a language other than Spanish, the title and abstract should be presented in the original language and in Spanish.

- Abstracts of research and review articles should be structured as follows OMRC:

1) Objectives
2) Materials and methods
3) Results
4) Conclusions

For citation it is very important to take into account the following recommendations:
Make use of the APA's (American Psychological Association) stylebook, 7th edition in Spanish, 2019.
In the text of the article must be referenced by author and year, this way: (Forero, 2000); (Smith, 1983); (Papini & Bitterman, 1990).

A list of references must be used, which has to show, in alphabetical order, all the works in which the author was based on in the text. The articles submitted must reference the DOI in the bibliography, in case the referenced journal or book has this code. 

Tables, figures and/or photographs:

 

Tables should be numbered consecutively and presented in the corresponding place in the body of the article. The same should be done with figures and photographs, which should be numbered separately from the tables.

Each table or figure should be accompanied by a title that clearly describes the material presented.             The tables, figures and photographs must be originals of the author(s). If they are modifications or reproductions of another article, the original source must be cited. The opinions and evaluations expressed by the authors in the articles are their exclusive responsibility and do not compromise the opinion and scientific policy of the Revista Investigación & Desarrollo. 

Manuscripts will have double blind review, that is, both the author and the reviewer are unaware of the identity of the other. Such process may take between 6 and 9 months, approximately, given the flux of articles submitted to the journal.
