Arquitectura para la convivencia en Colombia :la ciudad de camino al habla
Keywords:
Architecture and communication, communication and citizenship, civil society, convivialityAbstract
Our cities are the greatest cultural and material products that we, colombians, ever built. Yet, we made them without conscience and purpose. Thus, we have built an urban space that unveils our insensitivity and lack of greatness. We do not assume the communicative sense of the city; we are deaf to the city's call for interaction; and finally, we do not listen to messages -based upon the power to difference that cities embody-that call for exchange, collective reflection, and thinking. Therefore, also in an unconscious fashion, we tend to naturalize the interruption of life that takes place in cities, to accept the attack against art, and to ignore the game of symbols. Lack of communication is the essence of our lack of culture as citizens.
