La investigación reciente (2008–2023) sobre la sexualidad de las mujeres trans: una revisión bibliográfica narrativa

El objetivo de esta revisión es sintetizar la investigación más reciente sobre la sexualidad de las mujeres trans. Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática en las bases de datos PsycInfo, PubMed y Web of Science utilizando palabras clave. Finalmente se identificaron 52 artículos relevantes para su inclusión en esta revisión bibliográfica narrativa. La mayoría de los artículos identificados eran transversales, no incluían grupo comparativo y pertenecían a países occidentales. Los datos recogidos muestran que las mujeres trans se muestran atraídas mayoritariamente hacia hombres. El tratamiento médico tiene un impacto positivo en la sexualidad de las mujeres trans. El tratamiento hormonal cambia la sensibilidad y experiencia de las relaciones sexuales. Tras el tratamiento quirúrgico las mujeres trans refieren mantener relaciones con regularidad. La orientación sexual no se ve afectada por el tratamiento médico mientras que el deseo sexual disminuye al comienzo del tratamiento hormonal, pero se recupera con el tiempo al mantener el tratamiento. La investigación de la sexualidad de las mujeres trans sigue estando ligada a aspectos funcionales relacionados con el tratamiento quirúrgico. Sin embargo, las investigaciones recientes muestran interés en las vivencias subjetivas de este colectivo como el impacto que pueden tener estas intervenciones en su disfrute y su desarrollo vital.
