Abstract

No doubt, ontology is the central concern of Gilles Deleuze's thought. His approach to other fields of enquiry such as politics or aesthetics is always based on an ontological reflection. However, the role that language plays regarding this ontology has been poorly considered. In fact, language does not seem to be a central subject for Deleuze, even though the cases in which he examines it with certain exclusivity are very significant, as they constitute what can be considered a theory of language that places it in an essential relation with ontology. In this paper I will try to reconstruct this theoretical body on language and ontology, drawing, on the first place, on Logic of Sense, and then on the perfected formulation of “Postulates of Linguistics” and Foucault.
