Lithium-ion batteries have been used in consumer electronic applications, and its high efficiency has allowed for its use in the energy sector, especially in electric mobility and energy storage connected to a power system. For this reason, to calculate its operation condition is important to assure electric system reliability. In this work, a methodological proposal for the condition evaluation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) through key performance indicators (KPIs) is presented. This approach is useful for energy utilities companies, BESS owners, and operators for life cycle management. This methodological proposal is implemented on a software tool named RENOBAT, which facilitates BESS systems condition monitoring due to its design, construction, and operational data.
