Abstract

This paper summarizes a research process titled Bogota Fragmented and its Derivation: The Fragmented Image of Bogota, which focuces on fragmented structures of cities. In an attempt to understand the fragmentation of Bogota, this part of the study was labeled Culture and Urban Space at the end of the 20th Century », in which the process of fragmentation is analyzed from the perspective of urban story-telling. Fragmentation is developed in three chapters based on aesthetics and sense-making categories the first chapter is dedicated to media. The last one focuses on art. In this chapter a framework of fragmentary design was developed, which goes beyond architecture, urbanism, and art itself. In these fragments, images of a previous city are identified, thus constructing the city from those fragments.
