Does Work-Family Balance Affect Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment?
Abstract
The objective of this research is to analyze the work-family reconciliation variable and how it affects job satisfaction and organizational commitment in a sample of 197 workers from the Concepción Health Service Department, Chile. Regarding the statistical analysis, the descriptive analyzes of the sociodemographic variables and the organizational behavior variables under study were carried out. Then, the structural equation models were elaborated, which will allow us to analyze hypotheses of cause-effect relationships, being in this study the work-family reconciliation the independent variable, and the rest the dependent variables. Among the results, it is highlighted that the work-family reconciliation explains almost 70% of the variability of job satisfaction, which means that the perception that employees have of the benefits provided by the company contributes strongly to better job satisfaction.
