Scientific production on the topic of business incubation in universities: a bibliometric analysis

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study business incubation in universities to identify global trends in scientific production, that promote the generation of knowledge in modern lines of research. A bibliometric analysis of the Scopus database was used, and the result of the search parameters allowed us to identify 508 documents in a period of scientific production from 2002 to 2021.The study identified the main ones: themes, authors, journals, scientific production in institutions and countries, as well as work networks. Moreover, it allowed us to see to see the conceptual evolution and detected possibilities for carrying out future research in fields such as: university entrepreneurship, incubation of technology-based businesses and the promotion of new networks. The document is relevant due to the fact it contributes to theorization on the topic of business incubation in universities.
