Environmental and commercial feasibility of a tourist route in the central zone of Huila Department (Colombia)

Abstract

This article determined the commercial and environmental feasibility of a tourist route in the central zone of Huila Department. For this purpose, the tourist attractions of the area were determined, the commercial feasibility was identified, and the environmental sustainability of the product was analyzed. The information was collected through the Chamber of Commerce of Neiva, Garzón headquarters, taking, as population, the contributors with National Tourism Registration, from the eight municipalities that make up the zone, who offered lodging and food services. The characterization of the sites was carried out by means of a survey to trace the route with the use of Google Maps. Finally, it concluded that there is a wealth of natural and patrimonial attractions, it exalted the supply and demand of the tourist inventory, and it added the policies for the promotion of environmental sustainability.
