Abstract

Our interest is the operation of knowledge among knowledge-based enterprises.

To study these enterprises, we group them in two categories: the academic laboratories

and the technology-based enterprises located in technological parks. To analyze them

we have utilized two methodologies, the first is a field study with direct observation,

interviews and follow ups of two laboratories. The second methodology of study is

the analysis of the information obtained through questionnaires to executive directors

of the technology-based enterprises and BIC’s, the centers of business innovation.

Both analysis were made on European enterprises, and it show an importance given

to the operation of knowledge- to the articulation of knowledge from within and

outside the company, and to the support of the production of new knowledge, which

appears essential for their survival.
