Background, status and prospects for institutional development of psychology in Latin America

Starting from the historical background of the organizations grouping psychologists, the author states his point of view about creating a regional association which joins Latín American psychologists. He lists some reasons for the region te assume the direction of the discipline autonomously. In the same way, he proposes some suggestions in order to create a Latin American Psychology Association.
