Estructura familiar, ideación suicida y desesperanza en el adolescente

Abstract

El aumento de las conductas suicidas en los adolescentes en esta época ha dirigido la atención hacia factores que son capaces de cambiar la conducta de los jóvenes y por lo tanto influir en las tendencias suicidas. El objetivo es identificar la estructura familiar del adolescente, y su relación en la ideación suicida, sus causas y consecuencias, asimismo identificar el nivel de desesperanza y compararla por género. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo transversal en 185 alumnos que se encuentran en una secundaria considerada de riesgo. Se exploraron tres dimensiones, estructura familiar, percepción sobre la ideación suicida: causas y consecuencias y la escala de Desesperanza de Beck. Los resultados indican que los hombres presentan diferencias significativas en el nivel de desesperanza reportado, la relación con el padre se asocia con el pensamiento suicida y la relación con la madre en ver el suicidio como una salida a los problemas del adolescente. Se sugiere realizar estudios a mayor profundidad en esta población, e incluir variables como el pertenecer a pandillas, involucrarse en peleas, nivel educativo de los padres y el consumo de drogas, así como el soporte social percibido para relacionar el nivel de desesperanza con dichos factores de riesgo
