Stress. Evolution, physiology and disease

Last years, the research and interest in deepening the knowledge of physiology supporting the psychoneuroimmunological network links and its possible relation to health and sickness processes have been increasing in an important and significant way. In this article, a review of this physiological network is made as a previous step for future researching. An evolution context is proposed and stress is taken as the central point of analysis because the action of different psychobiological systems involved in chronic diseases characteristic of present world converges in this response.
