Abstract

Psychosocial factors at the workplace, stress responses and the effects on the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, endocrine, gastrointestinal systems and mental health, as well as its relationship with type II diabetes, sleep disorders, disruption in the relationship between work-family, and disorders such as depression, anxiety, and minor psychiatric alterations, are the subject of multiple studies on the working people in the world. The theoretical explanatory models, with the greatest exposure in magazines of a scientific nature are the DCs (Demand/Control-social support) ofR. Karasek and ERI (Effort/Reward Imbalance) of Johannes Siegrist. This article presents a review on 92 original articles derived from research on the subject, published in high impact journals in the last decade.
