Mental health of the teacher as a mediation of the process of teaching-learning

Starting from the review of researches on teachers' mental health, carried out in some European countries such as Sweden, Austria and Spain, an overview is given to the Colombian situation in this aspect. Some particular features of the problem in Colombian are stated. Among them, ethical and violence factors are mentioned. It is also established some possible causes of the identity and personality crisis of teachers and the probable consequences of such crisis. It is suggested to carry out further research on teachers mental health in order to deepen on the topic and answer questions such as: "Is teaching a 'high risk' profession related to the arising of neurosis, pressure, stress and psychosomatic illnesses?"
