Abstract

Human being has a great capacity to adapt him/herself and to transform the environmental conditions in order to live in a better way, even in the more adverse conditions. This knowledge is transmitted from one generation to another and this process of transmission constitutes the main mechanism of adaptation of human specie. Each culture creates a life style which enables its inhabitants to survive and reproduce in a particular surrounding. In environments of poverty, through years of researches carried out by the Human Development Research Center of Universidad del Norte, Barranquilla, Colombia, the social networks have been one of the sounder and more interesting mechanisms practiced by community population in order to overcome their problems.
