Abstract

This essay intends to reflect on suffering from Karl Jaspers’ perspective. Firstly, a brief summary of the author’s theoretical approach and his psychology cosmovision is made. Secondly, Jaspers’ concept of suffering is studied; and last a conceptual application of managing suffering by people experiencing this situation is made. This paper enhances topics such as values, scope and prejudices, and the analysis of suffering as expression of limit situations, and how states of mind influence on pessimistic or resilient attitudes facing these limit situations.
