Abstract

Firstly, this article proposes a brief summary of the history of psychological evaluation and the reflection about candidates' attitudes in their responses to psychological tests. It starts by focusing on a series of considerations about Personnel Search and Selection as a process and includes the topic of evaluation -complex and criticized- of such a pluriconditioned variable: the honesty. The arising question is twofold: from the scientific point of view, whether it is possible to measure people's honesty or not; from the ethical point of view whether there is someone able to conclude whether a person is honest. The challenge is to reduce the margin of error of "estimative" which can be reached without essentially impairing the requirements the market demands to personnel selectors. Key words: Personnel Search and Selection, Psychological tests, honesty.
