Abstract

This work is the result of a research study that tries to identify and describe the elements and dynamics that structure the concept of authority children have. Such concept is fundamental due to the incidence it has upon the development of the children's character, involving both their individual and social aspects, which structures since their earliest interactions. In this same context, authority is conceptualized from values, ideas and practices that children have apprehended in the earliest opportunities they had to socialize: family and school. A descriptive scheme was used as methodological strategy to carry out this study. Information was collected using the technique of semi-structured interviews, which were validated by expert judges. The sample object of study was formed by 1000 children aged 4-7, from poverty-stricken areas, and who lived with both parents
