Abstract

Children's health is influenced by the hygiene conditions of the places of care where children spend much of their time. The promotion of healthy environments in these places constitutes an interdisciplinary work of health education. The objective is to present a literature review that allows the identification of lines of action for the promotion of hygiene conditions and food safety as fundamental issues for the health care of children. As a result, four lines of action were characterized for the targeting of strategies and interventions for promotion and health care in early childhood. Finally, the relevant evidence about hygienic and food safety conditions was documented to direct strategies and interventions to promote healthy environments in child care centers
