Abstract

Two lessons, from many others, teach us the history of humanity. The first shows us that change is inevitable and the second that there’s always a possibility of improvement. Only organizations that grow and practice permanent change, including what they are good at, are the ones that last and are successful. Appreciative intervention is a philosophy and methodology used for constant change with the purpose of achieving an organization’s highest potential. The objective of this article is to present, initially, what appreciative intervention is; second, it’s theoretical bases; third, it’s empirical bases; fourth, the phases of the process involved in appreciative intervention; fifth, the ingredients necessary to successfully use appreciative intervention; and finally, the credibility of appreciative intervention.
