Abstract

This article proposes a model made by the author from a longitudinal-intime research in which significant differences were established between what function handbooks say and what is actually done. The model proposes to group the possible roles performed in any job in order to outline a profile from which the competences required to perform that job can be easily drawn, and the expectations of the organization regarding the results expected from the performance of each job can be clearly established. On the other hand, if the role is clearly defined –as the model proposes-, the objectives, expectations, processes, activities and results are naturally aligned causing an effect of order and clarity for all in the organization. This makes easy to review the convenience of certain processes or activities to the light of clearly defined results. Key words: Roles, competences, gestion.
