El significado del trabajo desde la psicología organizacional y del trabajo. Una revisión desde 1930

The studies in the Social Sciences about the work, have been done with from a variety of approaches, methodologies and levels of analysis based on different perspectives such as economic, historical, social and psychological. The transformation of the construct has been since the distinction between labor and work, to regard it as degrading activity, punishing or otherwise the dignified. In consequence, the work has a central place in the lives of individuals. In this article the phenomenon of work is approached from a historical perspective, with definitions from the Greco-Roman period until the decade of the seventies of the XX century. The article emphasizes on constituents settings of work such as the meaning of values, circumstances, context and socialization. Why do people work?, and the importance of working are part of meaning of work.
