Abstract

Objectives: Describe the collective needs of rural families and identify nursing care in the collective needs of rural families in the district of Chalamarca.

Metodología: Descriptive observational study with a qualitative approach. Five families participated, and an unstructured interview guide was administered.

Results: The findings indicated two empirical categories: 1) times and spaces of family communion constituted by communion from near and far mediated by virtuality; 2) a new way of life based on community organization: that makes empathy, justice, and public safety explicit as collective needs.

Conclusions: Family communion is seen as a collective need in which all individual and collective needs converge: This community process of coexistence constitutes the balance of caring for the needs of families, and professional nursing caring.
