Metacognitive activity and reading comprehension in tenth grade students

Abstract

It established the relationship between metacognitive activity and readingcomprehension in 40 Tenth Grade students from a school in SantaMarta, Colombia. For the study used a non-experimental correlationaldesign with a quantitative approach. The results allowed approachingthe understanding of the characteristics and relationships of these twomental activities, indicating that metacognitive activity in the sample iszero, the reading comprehension level is low and there is no statisticallysignificant relationship between the two processes.
