Abstract

Drug addiction is a mental disorder that can be chronic and repetitive, characterized by a main component, called impulsivity. The objective of this research was to evaluate the efficacy of rehabilitation strategies for the mental health of patients in drug addiction, for which a systematic review of randomized controlled trials was carried out. Studies from the last 5 years, that compared rehabilitation strategies for mental health with another type
of intervention or none, were included. For the evaluation of the methodological quality
of the included studies, the PEDRO scale was used, as well as the evaluation of the level of evidence and grade of recommendation according to the classification given by Oxford. Of 251 found records, fourteen articles met the eligibility criteria and were included for qualitative analysis. Interventions related to the rehabilitation of patients for mental health in drug addiction are heterogeneous and are emphasized to a greater extent in training of cognitive functions, physical exercise, motivational, behavioral, and emotional regulation components.
