In this paper, we aim at analyzing the progress and backward movement of Andean Community facing the creation of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). To do this, we have taken as main point the last two years, a period characterized by important facts, such as the arrival of new governments in the region and the definition of homogeneous politics before negotiations with the rest of America.
