Abstract

In this paper, we aim at analyzing the progress and backward movement of Andean Community facing the creation of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). To do this, we have taken as main point the last two years, a period characterized by important facts, such as the arrival of new governments in the region and the definition of homogeneous politics before negotiations with the rest of America.

Roberto González Arana, Universidad del Norte, Colombia

Ph.D en historia de la academia de ciencias de Rusia. Coordinador de la especialización en estudios político- económicos de la universidad del Norte e investigador del centro de investigaciones  en desarrollo humano –Cidhum– de la misma institución. Profesor del departamento de historia de la universidad del Norte y la universidad  del Atlántico. Vicepresidente de la adhilac.
