Liability for faulty products: from the Civil Code to the Consumer’s Protection Statute
Abstract
The understanding of the buy-sale process as the most common of contracts is equal to state that it is the fabric that facilitates most of the transactions between common people, dealers and entrepreneurs. It is because of this that it is needed special protection for the buyer’s rights, as is the case of solving hidden defects cases in the civil code, the guarantee of proper working in the code of commerce, and the laws of protection to the consumer.
The purpose of this paper is to present a brief but complete review of these institutions, making special emphasis on its regulation and their substantial and processal differences.
