UNASUR: Regional Integration or political cooperation?

Abstract

This article aims to conduct a study on the South American Union of Nations in order to analyze whether we are dealing with a process of regional integration and political cooperation. To do this, will raise the necessary aspects to define an integration scheme and on the other side, leading to being in front of an organization where political cooperation prevails. After that there will be a review of the content of UNASUR and the reflections approach to strengthen this international organization following a review of its regulatory framework. To conclude with some brief reflections on the nature of the scheme and the obstacles that must be overcome to achieve the objectives meet by its founding treaty
