Abstract

This paper shows some considerations regarding the most important contributions of the Commercial Code issued in 1971 in the Colombian contracting activity. These contributions can be summarized in that the Commerce Code of 1971 did not seek to amend or repeal the Civil Code of 1887, but, by contrast, was a work which gave it continuity, updating and transforming its institutions. So, it is not justified to make a new codification on the subject, but, on the contrary, it is highlighted the need to invigorate and understand the rules we have in place.
