From Icon to Phantasm. Two Models of the Anthropological Machine [Spanish]

Abstract

According to Furio Jesi and Giorgio Agamben, the anthropological machine is a historical artifact that produces images of the man. This paper aims at returning to this category and demonstrating that two models of the machine can be found depending on the nature of the image produced: the theological-biblical machine that operates until 19th century and that produces man as icon, and the atheological machine, after disappearance of God, that produces the man as phantasm.

Germán Osvaldo Prósperi, Universidad Nacional de La Plata

Germán Osvaldo Prósperi es Doctor en Filosofía por la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina). Ha sido becado por el Ministero degli Affari Esteri de Italia, a través del Istituto Italiano di Cultura, para realizar cursos y seminarios de postgrado en la Universitá degli Studi di Genova en los años 2005-2006. Actualmente se desempeña como docente e investigador en la UNLP. Además, es beneficiario de una Beca superior de Investigación otorgada por la Agencia Nacional de Promoción Científica y Tecnológica (ANPCyT) a través del Fondo para la Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (FonCyT).
