Abstract

Implementing a model for sustainable development implies balance between economic, social and environmental issues. Recently in Colombia economic outcomes shows a growing tendency.

This fact, however, is not reflected in social field. Despite all the ecologic wealth that our country possesses, it has deteriorated for the lack of work and control of the government. All these facts get worse in the Costa Caribe, where economic, social and environmental issues are far below the national average. Even though we are more aware of this reality, we’re still far behind of achieving fair and sustainable growth.
