Abstract

In recent years, the problem of translation has shifted from occupying a marginal or marginalized position to receiving increasing attention from various discursive practices—among them philosophy, literature, psychoanalysis, and translation studies—as well as from different professional communities, audiences, and institutions. Translation now stands at the center of a fertile and lively interdisciplinary debate, whose polyphony seems to bear witness to the irreducible plurality of languages.
