Importance of self-evaluation in academic performance
Main Article Content
Abstract
Since 2001, the School of Nursing at the University of Veracruz with the adoption of the comprehensive and flexible educational model (MEIF), academic performance has been conceptualized from the evaluation, where it is necessary to consider not only the individual student performance but the way it is influenced by peer group, classroom or their own educational context. Evaluation as such, has its beginnings in the procedures and concepts of assessment for learning in the early twentieth century. In the last 30 years it has been deployed as a social discipline, developing models of evaluation of learning or academic performance. Therefore, students must know the development of autonomy, critical thinking, ability to analyze and solve problems and, in general, their responsibilities during their learning process in order to be able to self-assess their behavior and to express themselves in writing in an organized way.
