Abstract

Unemployment is a phenomenon affecting developing countries and informality has become partial solution to this problem. This article analyzes the cultural and socio-economic aspects that have allowed to hold informal minute resale activity in Neiva, Huila. The methodology is based on the cultural model of Schein (1985), symbolic interactionism of Blumer (1969) and a correlational analysis. The findings confirmed that the generated social ties in the provision service allow their remaining on the market. However, the quality of life of those in this work activity generates slightly living conditions and they are more likely to be exposed to health risks.
